Hands up who's just a little bit fed up of the traditional roast chicken? Yep, us too. But we’ve got some stonking roast recipes up our sleeves to help breathe new life into your Sunday lunches. Hold on to your hats, boys and girls – this is a roasting revolution!

1. Nut roast en croute

Tried meat-free Monday? Well, how about meat-free Sunday? This nut roast is packed with chestnuts, mushrooms, nuts, red lentils and pastry. Yep we said pastry. Ooh.

2. Chiptole roast chicken

Feeling hot, hot, hot? Well you sure will be with this roast chicken smothered in chipotle chilli paste and red pepper purée. Don't say we didn't warn you.

3. Slow-roast lamb with feta, peppers and dill

A lighter take on roast lamb with feta to give it a Grecian vibe. We’re already big fans.

4. Roast herb and cumin lamb shanks

Forget roasting a big hunk of meat and give everyone their own lamb shank adorned with fragrant thyme. It's so good, you'll be licking your plate.

5. Sticky ginger beer ham

We’re pulling a bit of a Nigella here but instead of her infamous use of cola, we’re gunning for ginger beer. It'll still give roast ham a sticky, sweet and shiny glaze, but with a warming spicy flavour in a league all of its own.

6. Beef pot roast

Silverside beef is much cheaper than ribeye and, cooked this way, it'll give you a rich savoury gravy without any effort at all.

7. Roast pork belly with apple, sour cherry and fennel chutney

Making your own chutney is way easier than you might think and it’s perfect for cutting through the rich fatty deliciousness of the pork. The chutney keeps for up to a month in the fridge too so you can make it ahead of time and eat any leftovers with cheese and biscuits. Nom.

8. Slow-roasted buttermilk chicken

Marinating your chicken in buttermilk tenderises the meat and gives it extra flavour. Trust us, this will change the way you roast chicken forever.

9. Pot-roast chicken with chilli and coconut

An Asian twist on chicken flavoured with ginger, chilli and coriander. Pot roasting keeps the meat extra juicy and, as it's a one-pot wonder, there’ll be less washing up too.
