How to prepare and cook butternut squash
We've got used to seeing squash and pumpkins in the shops, but if you're flummoxed as to how to prepare a butternut squash, here's the video
- Cut the squash in half.
- Trim off one end. Cut in half and then again to create four pieces.
- Cut the bulbous end in half and scoop out the seeds with a teaspoon.
- Peel the butternut squash (you can leave the skin on to roast). Cut into even sized pieces and place in an ovenproof dish. Brush with a little oil, season and roast at 200ºC, 180ºC fan, Gas 6 for approximately 30 -40 minutes.
