We know celebrities take their beauty regimes seriously but have they gone a little too far?
In the quest for beauty perfection, celebrities swear by some rather unconventional and downright weird products.
Case study number 1: Suki Waterhouse
The model-turned-actress told US Weekly that she rinses her hair with Cola-Cola. She doesn’t do it all the time, mind (well, that would be weird) but she doesn’t like the look of her fine hair when it's been washed. She says: “Coca-Cola makes it tousled, like (it has) gone through the Amazon or something.”
Thirsty for some more weird food-come-beauty hacks? Well, look no further.
Blake Lively has amazing hair. Fact. What’s her secret? Well it's sitting in your fridge.
Speaking to Byrdie, the actress said: “My mom taught me this really great beauty tip. She used to put oil or mayonnaise on the bottom half of her hair before she would shower. That way, when she would shampoo, the soap wouldn’t strip the bottom of the hair and dry it out, making it brittle.”
Want to know how Solange and Queen Bey get that perfect afro? Well, the secret is out.
She told the New York Times: “Seeing photos of my mother from the 60s and 70s, she was a total rebel with her style. She had extremely fine hair and washed it with detergent to coarsen it up and had this amazing afro.”
This is the ultimate chill out. Kate Hudson says she sticks her face in a bowl of ice water to keep it looking good. Seriously.
Hudson told the DailyMakeover: “A makeup artist who has worked with dozens of people said ‘I used to work with this actor and every day he would stick his face in an ice bath. A little water and a lot of ice. And he would just stick his face in and try to be in there as long as he could, sort of dab off, and go back in. I started doing it.”
And how long does she endure the icy pain for? “It depends how badly I want it,” she said. Brrr.
What do you mean you only put milk on your cereal and in your cuppa? Supermodel Cindy Crawford, who doesn’t seem to have aged in 20 years, sprays the white stuff on her face. Hudabeauty says she mixes a little milk with water and uses it as a bizarre beauty spritz to keep her face hydrated and moist throughout the day.
Wait, doesn’t it smell a bit?
As the face of many fashion labels and a Hollywood A-lister, Scarlett Johansson must pay big bucks to keep her mug flawless, right? Well, that’s what we thought until he we heard about her budget beauty buy.
She confessed to Elle UK that she washes her face with – wait for it – cider vinegar. She said: “A while back, I started researching natural skincare. It’s a nice way to treat your skin if you don’t want to use all those chemicals a dermatologist would recommend.
“If your skin if is problematic or you’re having a lot of breakouts, it’s really healing. It’s a little bit stinky but if you’re not sleeping over at your boyfriend’s it’s really effective.”

Catherine Zeta Jones
What could be better than a bowl of strawberries on a hot summers day? Using them on your teeth, apparently.
Actress Catherine Zeta Jones rubs the ruby berries on her teeth to keep them clean and whiten them. Really.
She says: “The juice or pulp of strawberries serves as an astringent and can lighten surface stains.”
Don’t ditch your toothbrush just yet.
How do you like your coffee in the morning? Well, all over your legs if you’re Halle Berry. The actress is said to add ground coffee to her body wash as an anti-cellulite treatment. The thinking goes that the caffeine and mild exfoliation will increase blood flow and smooth skin.
Let’s hope she rinses it off thoroughly.
