Eat it, or use it to create a masterpiece. Your call
Bread = a surprisingly perfect artists' material. Who'd have thunk it? Tomorrow, our current Great British Bake Off contestants will be challenged with making the bread sculpture to end all bread sculptures.
As we wait to see what the GBBO breadventurers will create, here's the standard they'll be hoping to hit as we scour the planet for the best bread sculptures ever created. Gluten-free folk, look away now...
1. Unleash the dragon
A bread dragon – a breagon? Whatever. We'd tear the limbs off this and dunk them in hummus without being asked twice.
2. Breaded Kingdom
When bakers dream, do they dream of inhabiting these lands?
3. Bread or dead
If you squint, it's almost Paul Hollywood.
4. Coming up roses
Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Yes – if it were made of bread.
5. Waking the bread
No, you can't play it. But you can eat it, and that instantly makes it a million times better than a normal violin.
6. Loafing around
It may be a baked wonder, but we don't think it's going to be troubling the London Eye for tourists just yet.
7. Bread Ben
Yes, that is Big Ben made out of bread. Yes, he probably does have a little too much time on his hands
8. A barrel of laughs
Note: bread pretending to be booze is not as exciting as actual booze.
9. Feeling fruity
This counts as one of our five a day, right? Right?
