• 4 New Zealand lamb rumps (or lamb steaks)
  • 350g jar arrabiata sauce
  • 400g can butter beans, drained
  • Olive oil, to cook
  • Microwaveable rice, to serve
  • Broccoli, to serve


  1. 1 Heat a small amount of olive oil in a large pan. Add the lamb and brown all over. Remove and set aside.
  2. 2 Tip in the jar of arrabiata sauce. Half fill the jar with water and add to the pan (or add a splash of red wine for a richer flavour). Bring to the boil.
  3. 3 Stir in the butter beans along with the lamb, and add a little salt and pepper.
  4. 4 Cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes, until the lamb is completely cooked through.
  5. 5 Serve with a selection of microwaveable accompaniments such as rice and broccoli.
