Place the strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with the sugar. Stand for 15 minutes at room temperature, to release the juices.
In a liquidiser or with a handheld blender in a large jug or bowl, purée the grapes and strawberry mixture together. Add the apple juice gradually, blending as you go.
To serve straight away, add a couple of ice cubes and whizz up again, or chill for at least 20 minutes.
