Ingredients

  • 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 Taste the Difference Jubilee vine tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons sun-dried tomato purée
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons soft brown sugar

Method

    Place the onion, garlic and the tomatoes in a deep saucepan.

    Add the purée, olive oil, oregano and the soft brown sugar.

    Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 1 hour until thick for a tasty sauce that can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days.

    Cook's tip: Try stirring your tomato sauce through cooked pasta or using it to marinate chicken breasts before cooking. You could also use it as a delicious topping for pizzas or a flavoursome relish for burgers.
